Inventory Management

SimpleWMS provides real-time visibility into your inventory across all warehouse locations. Track stock levels, manage products, and monitor inventory movements.

Products

Products are the items you store and manage in your warehouse. Product data can be:

  • Synced from Lemonsoft ERP automatically via integration
  • Managed manually within SimpleWMS

Viewing Products

  1. Navigate to Products from the sidebar
  2. Browse the product list with search and filtering
  3. Click on a product to view details and stock levels

Product Information

Each product includes:

  • Name: Product description
  • Code/SKU: Unique identifier
  • Unit: Measurement unit (pcs, kg, m, etc.)
  • Stock levels: Current quantity per location
  • Lot information: For lot-tracked items

Stock Tracking

SimpleWMS tracks inventory at the bin level, giving you precise visibility into where products are located.

Viewing Stock Levels

The inventory views show:

  • Total stock across all locations
  • Stock per warehouse breakdown
  • Bin-level quantities for precise location
  • Lot numbers for traceability

Use the inventory search to:

  • Find products by name or code
  • Locate items by bin location
  • Filter by warehouse or area
  • Search by lot number

Lot Tracking

For products requiring traceability, SimpleWMS supports lot number tracking.

Lot Information

Each lot can include:

  • Lot number: Unique identifier
  • Expiration date: For perishable goods
  • Manufacturing date: Production information
  • Supplier lot: Vendor's lot reference

Manufactured Lots

For internally produced items, manufactured lots track:

  • Production batch details
  • Raw materials used
  • Manufacturing date
  • Quality information

Inventory Movements

Stock moves through various operations:

Transfers

Transfers move inventory between locations within or across warehouses.

Creating a Transfer

  1. Navigate to Transfers
  2. Click Create Transfer
  3. Select:
    • Source location: Where items are coming from
    • Destination location: Where items are going
    • Products and quantities: What to move
  4. Save and execute the transfer

Transfer Use Cases

  • Moving products from receiving to storage
  • Relocating slow-moving items
  • Consolidating partial bins
  • Warehouse-to-warehouse transfers

Stock Accuracy

Maintain accurate inventory with these practices:

  1. Regular cycle counts: Verify physical vs. system quantities
  2. Immediate recording: Log all movements as they happen
  3. Audit trail review: Check the audit logs for discrepancies
  4. Location discipline: Always store items in their assigned bins

Audit Trail

All inventory movements are logged in the audit trail, accessible via Settings > Audit Logs (admin only). The audit log records:

  • What changed
  • Who made the change
  • When it occurred
  • Before and after values
