WMS

Getting Started

Set up SimpleWMS and configure your first warehouse in minutes.

Getting Started

This guide walks you through the initial setup of SimpleWMS, from logging in to creating your first warehouse structure.

Prerequisites

Before you begin, ensure you have:

  • Access credentials provided by your administrator
  • Information about your warehouse layout (areas, shelving units, bin locations)
  • Product data ready for import (or Lemonsoft ERP integration configured)

First Steps

1. Log In

Navigate to your SimpleWMS instance and log in with your credentials. If you're an administrator setting up a new installation, use the default admin credentials provided during deployment.

2. Dashboard Overview

After logging in, you'll land on the Dashboard. This provides an at-a-glance view of:

  • Total warehouses, products, and active orders
  • Recent purchase orders and sales orders
  • Warehouse capacity status
  • Order activity charts for the next 14 days

3. Create Your Warehouse Structure

SimpleWMS uses a hierarchical structure to organize storage locations:

Warehouse
└── Area
    └── Shelf
        └── Bin

Create a Warehouse

  1. Navigate to Warehouses in the sidebar
  2. Click Add Warehouse
  3. Enter the warehouse name and details
  4. Save the warehouse

Add Areas

Areas represent logical zones within a warehouse (e.g., "Receiving", "Storage", "Shipping").

  1. Navigate to Areas
  2. Click Add Area
  3. Select the parent warehouse
  4. Enter the area name and save

Set Up Shelves and Bins

Shelves and bins provide the granular locations where products are stored.

  1. Create shelves within areas via Shelves
  2. Create bins within shelves via Bins
  3. Use consistent naming conventions (e.g., A-01-01 for Area A, Shelf 1, Bin 1)

Next Steps

Once your warehouse structure is set up:

User Roles

SimpleWMS supports two user roles:

RolePermissions
AdminFull access to all features, user management, settings, and audit logs
UserAccess to warehouse operations, orders, and inventory management

Administrators can manage users in Settings > Users.
